Energy Resilience in Focus: Estonia–Ukraine Forum in Kyiv

On 27 April 2026, the Estonia–Ukraine Energy Cooperation Forum took place in Kyiv, with a strong focus on protecting energy infrastructure under wartime conditions.
The event brought together stakeholders from both countries to exchange practical experience on operating energy systems under continuous threats. The Ukrainian Hydrogen Council participated in discussions centered on real-life cases of resilience, rapid recovery, and adaptation of energy infrastructure in response to military risks.
Particular attention was given to Ukraine’s hands-on experience in protecting critical infrastructure — from engineering solutions and multi-layered protection systems to organizational and digital response tools. Estonian partners had the opportunity to directly observe approaches that have already proven effective in real wartime conditions.
The forum highlighted that international cooperation in energy security today is driven not only by technology, but by the exchange of practical experience in sustaining and restoring systems under attack. For Ukraine, this also forms the foundation for a long-term transition to a resilient, decentralized, and integrated European energy system, where hydrogen will play a key role.
We thank our partners for focusing on practical solutions and for contributing to strengthening energy security together.
