Vattenfall is working on a hydrogen demonstrator project named Hydrogen Turbine 1 (HT1), which involves installing hydrogen production equipment on one of the wind turbines at its Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm (European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre) in Scotland.
The company has already submitted a couple of applications for pipeline route surveys with Marine Scotland, as well as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Screening Opinion Request accompanied by a report.

Romanian majority state-owned hydropower producer Hidroelectrica seeks a consultant to prepare a feasibility study for a 50 MW green hydrogen production unit with a photovoltaic park with storage batteries on the Danube island Ostrovu Mare.
The Romanian company is planning a process efficiency of 75% and production of at least 7,500 tones of hydrogen per year. The cost of a kilogram of the produced hydrogen would be no more than EUR 4, as the company prefigures.

The Port of Hanstholm, Denmark, is set to explore hydrogen technologies as a means to become Europe’s “first” carbon-neutral fishing port with a new letter of intent signed with European Energy.
With an influx of hydrogen technologies to the port, it could serve as an entryway to wider decarbonisation of crucial industries both in Denmark and Europe.

Renewable hydrogen is now being produced at a facility in Lloseta, Mallorca, that could produce at least 300 tonnes of the clean energy carrier annually.
The renewable electricity for hydrogen production is certified using blockchain technology via the GreenH2Chain® platform developed by ACCIONA Energía.
Once fully operational, it is hoped that the produced hydrogen could be injected into Spain’s first hydrogen pipeline.

US-based Cummins to build 1GW hydrogen electrolyser factory in China with state-owned oil giant Sinopec.
The new plant, due to begin operation next year with 500MW of capacity, will be the first in the country to use Western electrolyser technology. The $47m plant in Foshan, Guangdong province, will initially have an annual production capacity of 500MW upon completion in 2023, which will be gradually increased to reach 1GW by 2028.
