Oleksandr Riepkin met with Deputy Head of Mission and Consul of the Australian Embassy in Ukraine Robert Curtis

Strengthening bilateral dialogue as well as mutual exchange of experience between countries are important for the development and implementation of new technologies such as hydrogen. Australia is one of those countries that is already actively involved in the development of hydrogen energy and whose experience can be extremely useful for Ukraine.

Today, President of the Energy Association “Ukrainian Hydrogen Council” Oleksandr Riepkin discussed with Deputy Head of Mission and Consul of the Australian Embassy in Ukraine Robert Curtis the possible cooperation between Australia and Ukraine in the field of hydrogen energy.

In particular, the Parties shared the information on key developments in the implementation of hydrogen technologies in the countries. Robert Curtis noted that Australia currently studies new hydrogen transportation technologies and implements hydrogen projects.

Following the meeting, the Parties agreed that stimulating the production of hydrogen and its use as an environmentally friendly fuel are key to addressing climate change and agreed to strengthen bilateral dialogue.

Recall that in Australia, the national hydrogen strategy was approved two years ago. Its implementation until 2030 is one of the main tasks of the country's government. The strategy includes more than fifty directions and aims to use hydrogen in transport, industry, for the adaptation of gas transmission networks etc. It is also important that all these actions receive state financial support.
